RT National Summit 2025 in Long Beach

Although I went to the annual Summit with Marianne, our RTP Program Director, we barely saw each other.This was Marianne’s first time at Summit, and she was impressed and absorbed in all the workshops, info sessions, and networking opportunities that the National office coordinated for our 109 affiliates from across the country.
Topics ranged from Nonprofit Strategy, Federal Audits, Grant Writing, Storytelling, Disaster Recovery, Operations, Staff and Board Development, Certifications as Aging-in-Place Specialists, Brand Development, and lots more.
As a member of the National Affiliate Council (NAC), my Summit experience looked a little different. Actually, it looked a lot different. It looked like meetings. Lots of meetings, some of them in conference rooms, many in local pubs, and a few in some very nice restaurants around Long Beach. All work meetings I assure you.
This year, I was honored to be elected Vice Chair of the NAC, which brings with it a seat on the Rebuilding Together National Board, which of course means more meetings. All work meetings I assure you.
And, RTP may have gotten a little award for Excellence in Leadership.

Lynch Creek Trail cleanup in Petaluma

Rebuilding Together Petaluma and the City of Petaluma invite the public to join them for a volunteer day along the Lynch Creek Trail.
“We’ll be giving our greenest cross-town connector a makeover just in time for autumnal strolls and bike rides, from Water Street to S. McDowell Blvd.”

Sam Sakata: Petaluma’s town-sprucing superstar

Sam Sakata joined the Rebuilding Together Petaluma staff to help spruce up the town. Graffiti removal and grass mowing are his jam. If Sam looks familiar, you have probably seen him cleaning up Petaluma or assisting with the Showers as a volunteer with Downtown Streets Team.
